Sesame Tahini Oat Bars
(Makes 20-24 balls)

Hi my name is Stephanie and I am a snack-o-holic! I LOVE snacks! My kitchen is filled with things I can grab and go at my convenience.  From the sounds of it I know you are busy and love your snacks too.  Here I have created a super easy snack recipe that keeps fresh in your fridge for a couple of weeks.  They are super quick to make and I know your family will love them too.

When we snack we want to make sure we are getting enough healthy carbs, fats, fiber and protein into our diet.  Why is that? Well those are our very basic macro nutrients that will make you feel satiated and full. It will also give you the energy you need to get through your busy day. Physical activity, as well as brain power all uses energy! So we have to fuel our bodies and our brain with whole nutrient dense ingredients so we can perform at our optimal best every single day.

Enjoy this delicious Sesame Tahini Oat Ball recipe! And, don't forget to share or comment below!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups gluten free oats (soaked overnight)
  • 1 cup sesame tahini
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup ground chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup ground flax seeds
  • 1/3 cup raw honey
  • Handful cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips (optional)

Steps

  1. Combine all ingredients into a food processor and blend on high speed (if you don't have a food processor that's fine too just toss into a large mixing bowl and mix with your hands)
  2. If balls aren't sticky enough add more honey, if balls are too sticky add more oats
  3. Roll into small 1-2 inch balls
  4. Place in glass container and refrigerate to keep freshness

Health Benefits of Tahini

  2. It helps prevent anemia.
  3. It has a high alkaline content, which creates ease on the digestive tract and helps metabolism and weight loss.
  4. Aids in healthy glowing skin and muscle tone (which we all love!)
  5. It’s rich in minerals such as phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium and iron.
  6. It's aids in liver detoxification due to its Methionine content.
  7. It’s one of the best sources of absorbable calcium.
  8. It’s a great source of vitamin E and vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B15.
  9. It helps promote healthy cell growth (healthy cells is the KEY to optimal health and disease prevention!)
  10. It is a higher protein source than majority other nuts due to its 20% complete protein content.
