Restorative Yoga focuses on relaxing in poses, without strain or pain, to achieve physical, mental and emotional relaxation. These classes are very relaxing, slow paced and aim to support the central nervous system. Props, such as blocks, bolsters, blankets and straps are used so that you are supported in the postures comfortably. This practice is great to balance an active lifestyle, or for those that experience anxiety, restlessness, tension and stress. Your parasympathetic nervous system is supported in this style of class which promotes a relaxation response and reduces stress in the body. Slowing your breath, heart rate and increasing blood flow to your organs. This style of class also includes the use of aromatherapy (guided self massage) and sound therapy (crystal singing bowls) to deepen the calming effects of this therapeutic practice. Each week will integrate a different theme.
