Classic Strawberry + Banana Smoothie
Here is your classic strawberry and banana smoothie but better! Made with full fat (yes full fat!) coconut milk, and coconut mana (the full and pure flesh of the coconut). Many people are afraid of the full fats, and go with fat free options. In this case, quality fat from a coconut has so many health benefits, and this type of fat does NOT make you fat. This healthy fat is actually transported to the liver where it is converted into energy, it is not stored in the body as fat. So please don't be afraid of incorporating full fat quality foods into your daily diet. Plus we need it to break down all of the amazing protein sources (chia seeds for example) included in this smoothie. So, yes we need fats in our diet, especially if we want long sustained constant energy. Plus, it gives you beautiful looking skin and hair! Bonus!
Ingredients:
- 1 + 1/2 cups coconut milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 10 medium strawberries
- 1 tbsp. coconut manna
- 1/4 cup oats (soaked)
- 1 tbsp. chia seeds
- 4 ice cubes (or until desired thickness is achieved)
Note: Use organic ingredients if possible.
Steps:
1. Soak oats over night in covered bowl of water (you can use paper towel to cover the bowl, it should soak for 12-24 hours before using them)
2. Combine all ingredients into blender 3. Mix on high speed until smooth 4. Sip + enjoy!
